Spring greetings to all from the Recorder’s desk, as I write this message it’s snowing but the weather forecaster is promising warm weather for April and May. Our ice fishing season is over for this winter as the ice is unsafe to walk on let alone snowmobile on. Soon fishing from shore, boats or docks will be in order. Nobles while you’re out walking, fishing or just thinking about mowing the lawn, it’s time to think about who you know that would be a good Mason and Shriner. Declining membership is, and has been the number one concern in our Shrine for over thirty years and NOW is the time for all Shriners to do something about it. As of today, Elf Khurafeh has no Candidate Petitions turned in to our Recorder for the July 28th Ceremonial in Grayling. What’s the matter, don’t we intend to pass on the good times and fellowship to other Masons? Nobles the time IS DEFINITELY NOW. PLEASE work on Membership for the good of the Order.
Nobles and Ladies, our Telemed has taken a turn for the better, March 16th is scheduled for several patients to be examined at Covenant Clinic in Saginaw and Shriners Hospital Chicago by Tele-Medicine. A trial run was completed on Jan.19, 2018 and both Hospitals were very pleased with the results along with the parents and patients. This new procedure is going to save many hours of travel for parents, drivers, patients and dollars from the Hospital Transportation Fund. This will not eliminate the trips to Chicago for surgery or braces, at this time, only the Orthopedic Patients will be involved with Telemed. (What a great step forward for our kids.) Elf Khurafeh Shriners should be very proud to be a part of this great undertaking.
Driver Safety meeting will be April 28th Alpena at 10AM and Saginaw June 2nd at 9AM.
